Fresno State’s baseball team gave up a three-run home run to Cal State Fullerton in the 10th inning on Sunday to lose 12-9.

The Bulldogs (12-16) had a chance to take the three-game series from the Titans (14-13), leading 9-7 after seven innings. But the Titans scored one run in the eighth and one in the ninth to send the game to extra innings at Beiden Field.

Cal State Fullerton’s Danny Dorn took it from there, hitting his first home run of the season to give the Titans the victory.

Fresno State pitcher Matt Garza got the loss, giving up five runs (four earned) and seven hits in three innings of relief.

Bulldogs second baseman Ryan Haag led off the game with a home run to left field. Haag was 3 for 6 on the day and scored a Bulldogs’ season-high four runs.

The Titans’ Bobby Andrews led off the third inning with a home run of his own to tie the game 1-1.

But Fresno State used some power to take the lead right back in the bottom of the inning when Chase Moore hit his second home run of the season and Richie Robnett hit a run-scoring double.

Cal State Fullerton took a 5-3 lead in the top of the fifth with RBIs from P.J. Pilittere, Andrews and Dorn.

But Fresno State countered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning, sparked by a three-run home run from Chris Patrick.

Fresno State won the series opener 7-5 on Friday, before losing 15-5 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs open Western Athletic Conference play with a three-game series at No. 3 Rice on Friday.

Women’s Tennis

The No. 14 Fresno State women’s tennis team remained undefeated at home with a 7-0 win over No. 50 Missouri on Sunday at Wathen Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs (10-2) have won nine of their past 10 matches. The win over Missouri (9-7) gives Fresno State a 4-0 home record and improves the team to 8-1 against ranked opponents.

Bulldogs freshman Jelena Pandzic, ranked No. 18 in singles, improved to 12-0 on the season with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Missouri’s Hana Kraftova.

The Bulldogs host No. 74 Kansas State at 1 p.m. on Tuesday to open a four-match homestand.
