International student suffers minor injuries in accident

A man with serious injuries was taken to a hospital by ambulance and an international student from Japan was taken to St. Agnes Hospital after the two were involved in a accident at the intersection of Shaw and Barton avenues Sunday afternoon.

“ It appears the red car ran the red light and collided with the other car,” Officer Robert Cegielski of the Fresno Police Department said.

Cegielski said the driver of the red car, who was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, appeared to have suffered serious injuries on the head and the neck.

The student, who preferred not to be named, said she didn’t think she was seriously injured but wanted to see a doctor to make sure she was alright.
