Police searching for two men who groped women

Police are looking for two people who assaulted two female students around Fresno State in October and November.

The first incident happened Oct. 27 on Bulldog Lane when the suspect, described as a black-haired, 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic man in his early 20s, grabbed the victim’s breasts as she walked toward Fresno State. The victim yelled at him and he left the area.

The suspect was last seen walking westbound on Bulldog Lane from Cedar Avenue. He was wearing an off-white T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap.

Another female student was assaulted Nov. 11 at a sidewalk next to an apartment complex on Barton Avenue, south of Shaw Avenue. The suspect, described as a 5-foot 7-inch Hispanic man of medium build in his 20s, came from behind a tree and grabbed the victim’s left breast.

The suspect was last seen walking southbound on Barton Avenue toward Sierra Madre Avenue. He was wearing a multi-colored beanie.

Mike Dunlap, interim university police chief, has advised students to exercise caution while walking around campus.

“ Pay close attention to where you are and, if possible, have people accompany you,” Dunlap said.

Police have posted bulletins at various points around the campus describing the suspects. Photos of the suspects are not available.

Anybody with information regarding the cases can contact the police at 278-2132 and refer to case numbers 03-1114 or 03-1180 for the first and second cases, respectively.
