Bulldog's Hartt named WAC volleyball player of the weekFor the third time this season, a Fresno State athlete has won the award for WAC player of the week in volleyball. Bulldog senior Carrie Hartt earned the award for the first time in her career and joins teammate Kristen Fenton (twice awarded) as the only Bulldogs to have won the award this season. Against Boise State last Thursday, Hartt had a career-best four block solos and a season-high 10 total blocks in addition to her 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .478. Against UTEP, Hartt narrowly missed a triple-double, collecting 15 kills, 10 digs, and nine blocks. The feat would have been the first for Fresno State in four years. With 19 total blocks for a 2.38 block-per-game average and hitting a team-best .339, Hartt was the only Bulldog to achieve a double-double in both matches. Fresno State will be on the road this week for matches at Louisiana Tech and SMU and returns home for a four game homestand beginning Nov. 1, including a match with No. 2 Hawaii in the Save Mart Center Nov. 9. |
