The Fresno State women’s volleyball team wrapped up a tournament championship at the La Quinta/Northern Arizona Invitational this weekend with a three game sweep over Liberty.

The Bulldogs also recorded victories against New Mexico State in four games (30-27, 30-22, 25-30, and 31-29) and host Northern Arizona in five games (31-29, 23-30, 30-24, 27-30, and 15-7) to go 3-0 for the tournament and advance to 10-3 overall.

Bulldog junior Kristen Fenton earned MVP tournament honors for the second time this season and joined teammates Carrie Hartt and Tiffany Bishop on the seven-member all-tournament team.

In the tournament finale against the Lady Flames, Fenton led all players with 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .667.

The tournament victory was Fresno State’s third tournament title of the year, including the Fresno State Invitational and the Sacramento State Invitational.

After being on the road for three weeks, the Bulldogs return home to open WAC play. Fresno State will play Rice on Thursday, Sept. 25 at
