Fees due Friday, mailings going out

Time is running out for students who haven’t paid their enrollment fees yet.

Students must pay their enrollment fees, in full, by Friday Sept. 26 or else they will be denied access to their grades and the ability to enroll for classes for spring semester. Students with financial aid have an additional month, Oct. 27, before their fees must be paid.

Bernie Vinovrski, vice president of enrollment services, said that invoices and e-mails have been sent out over the last month to warn students about the deadline. Failure to pay will result in hold being placed on the student’s records.

Holds on grades, transcripts and future enrollment could begin as early as the end of next week.

In previous years enrollment fees had to be paid before the semester began. This year the PeopleSoft system allows Fresno State to bill students after classes have started.

Vernovski said it’s an advantage for students because it lets them register. “From the accounting side of the house, it’s not the best because we have to go collect after people who haven’t paid their bills,” he said.

Students will receive a registration mailer via e-mail sometime in the middle of October, Vinovrski said.

The mailer will advise students to go to http://my.fresnostate.edu to find out what day and time they can register for spring classes. If their fees are not paid, their records will be on hold and they will not have a scheduled time to register for classes.

Vinovrski expects a lot of student traffic in the accounting office on Friday.

More than 700 students were disenrolled last semester because they did not pay their fees.

Vinovrski said: “If you want to register on time, you gotta pay your bill.”
