Table twelve is paid and leaving,
they tried to wave, or so it seemed.
Too tied up with table seven;
three toddlers needing booster seats.
Simple man with a simple task,
but the frequency is endless.
A little jam on a toasted half
with the piquancy of citrus.
Table five needs refills
and table eight as well,
table twelve needs menus;
while someone’s ringing on the bell.
