Following Friday’s Associated Students, Inc. Student Court Zoom meeting, The Collegian reached out to Bradley Hertz, Carlie Hall’s legal representative for a comment regarding the gathering.
He emailed this statement to The Collegian:
“Today’s Student Court hearing had a “Keystone Cop” feel to it, and it was clear that the “fix was in” against Carlie Hall and the Next Step slate. Among our concerns, which we will be raising in an appeal to President Jiménez-Sandoval and then perhaps to a real Court, are that the Student Court: (1) allowed the hearing to be usurped by Frederick Mark Lisitsa, who’s not even a member of the Court; (2) refused to hear from me as the attorney for the three candidates who requested recounts; (3) rejected Ms. Hall’s recount request; (4) failed to even consider Ava Tingey’s or Seth Borba’s recount requests; (5) failed to hear Aiden Brown’s complaint against Camaleh Saleh; and (6) structured the meeting to exclude those who requested recounts. Now we await the Student Court’s written decision as signed by the Chief Justice, ASI Election Commissioner, and ASI Director, so we can move forward with our appeal and Public Records Act request and explore all available legal remedies as we seek due process, justice, and transparency for Fresno State’s students.”
