The No. 10 seed Fresno State men’s basketball team is set to take on the No. 7 seed University of Nevada, Reno in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament.
The two teams will face off in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center on March 12, at 1:30 p.m.
This will be the third time both teams have met this season, with the Wolf Pack having won both previous matchups.
The two teams first met at the Save Mart Center on Jan. 11, and went to overtime. Nevada eventually took over, winning 77-66.
In their second meeting on Feb. 10, at the Lawlor Events Center, Nevada dominated en route to a 94-69 victory. The Wolf Pack shot the ball well, shooting 61% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc.
Former Bulldog guard Xavier DuSell has played well when going against his former squad. DuSell is averaging 13.5 points and 4 rebounds in two games against the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs were able to pick up their second conference win of the year and snap their 11-game losing streak on March 4, against the University of Wyoming, but lost handedly to San Jose State in their final game before the tournament.
The Bulldogs will look to make the most of the tournament in Head Coach Vance Walberg’s first appearance.
