ORIGINAL STORY ( posted March 1)
Two victims were wounded after a shooting unfolded near Fresno State behind the Maya Theatre at Campus Pointe and in front of the Palazzo apartment complex.
The shooting happened just past midnight on Saturday, and the Fresno Police Department has advised people to stay away from the area at this time.
The victim found on the scene is a male in his 20s who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital and is in severe condition.
The other victim who suffered a gunshot wound was self-transported to a local hospital and he is in stable condition.
“One of our victims was shot in his lower extremity. The other victim was shot in his upper mid-section to upper body,” said Fresno Police Department Lieutenant Henry Garcia.
It is unclear if the victims are Fresno State students but Garcia said that they do not believe that they are students.
Garcia also shared that there was a party held nearby in one of the apartment complexes.
“This is an isolated incident from everything that we’re gathering,” Garcia said. “That it looks like nobody should really be in any other fear. It looks like it was a disturbance between the individuals involved and nobody else.”
The Fresno Police Department has a possible suspect, but they are urging the public to contact them with any information.
