Fresno State students are in for the very first and one of a kind music festival put on specifically for students
Dog Daze at Fresno State is a music festival that’s set to host many house and EDM artists and community organizers at the Save Mart Center on May 2. Headlining the event is Odd Mob, an Australian DJ.
The festival will aim to include local vendors to highlight the greater Fresno State community by bringing art, food and businesses.
Pre-business major and spokesperson for Dog Daze, Sophia Sandoval, says that the festival was made by Fresno State students, for students and that the event will shine a light on the university.
“At the end of the day it’s for Fresno State students,” Sandoval said. “We really want students to love their campus and love being here.”
The aim is to make the festival as student-friendly as possible and to outreach with the university to prioritize and highlight the importance this event has for the students.
“We want this to bring a big light to Fresno State,” Sandoval said.“It’s something that’s never really been done here before, and something that we’re going to continue doing in the next few years.”
Dayfish is a local DJ who will be performing at Dog Daze. He got his start at the Delta, a local warehouse known for hosting raves and giving new artists a platform to explore their talents in front of an audience.
Dayfish emphasizes how important this festival is for the growing movement of EDM in the Central Valley.
“It’s huge,” Dayfish said. “I think this is bridging this huge gap between this rave, house music and techno culture that’s been growing worldwide right now and there’s a huge scene in Fresno and this is kind of bridging that to Fresno State students.”
Tickets range depending on seats. The cheapest tickets are $46.75 and the most expensive ones are $187 for VIP seating.
