Derek Carr helps the Saints get back in the win column
Led by Carr’s efficient play, the New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-17. This was the Saints’ first win since week 2.
Carr completed 16 of his 25 passing attempts for 269 passing yards and threw for 2 touchdowns.
The former Fresno State quarterback threw to seven different players, including one pass going to former Bulldog running back Jordan Mims.
This was the Saints’ first win under interim head coach Darren Rizzi while ending their seven game losing streak.
The (3-7) Saints will look to build on the victory when they next play the (2-7) Cleveland Browns at home on Nov. 17.
Davante Adams has a quiet day in Arizona
Adams and the Jets struggled to get much going on Sunday.
The former Bulldog had 6 receptions for just 31 yards.
New York could not build off their upset win on Halloween, losing 31-6 to the Arizona Cardinals. The six points the Jets scored came from two field goals while the offense totaled just 207 yards.
The Jets now sit at 3-7 on the year, their worst start to a season since 2021. They will next play the (4-6) Indianapolis Colts at home on Nov. 17.
Other ‘Dogs in the League
Saints running back Jordan Mims had two carries for 10 yards. He also caught a pass from Carr for 4 yards. With all the injuries to the Saints, Mims could see more time being the backup to Alvin Kamara.
Mims’ college teammate Jake Haener was active but did not see any action in the Saints victory.
Commanders linebacker Mykal Walker totaled 3 tackles in Washington’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The (7-3) Commanders will have a short week, playing the (7-2) Philadelphia Eagles on the road on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Wide receiver Jalen Cropper was elevated from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. Cropper was active, but did not record any stats in the 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The (3-6) Cowboys head into their bye week with their next game being against the (6-4) Houston Texans on Monday, Nov. 18.
Defensive end Arron Mosby and the Green Bay Packers were on bye this week. The (6-3) Packers will next play the (4-5) Chicago Bears on Sunday, Nov. 17.
