The Fresno State women’s golf team finished 13th at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
The team traveled to the Lawrence Country Club to compete in the tournament hosted by the University of Kansas.
Sophomore Vunnisa Vu shot 6-over through three rounds, finishing tied for 19th overall.
Following an opening round 77, she came back with rounds of 73 and 71. Vu’s final round 71 was the best of the week for the Bulldogs.
Much like her teammate Vu, Sophomore Amelia Garibaldi improved after every round. Garibaldi opened her tournament with an 80 but fired a 75 and 73 in the second and third rounds.
Garibaldi’s 12-over performance put her in a tie for 35th.
The team will travel to the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada to face off in the Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by Northern Arizona University, on Oct. 20-22.
