Welcome Week at Fresno State is well underway! Whether you’re new on campus or coming back for another semester, here are welcome events happening on campus this week from Aug. 21-31.
Thursday, Aug. 22:
The same welcome stations from the previous day will be open in their respective locations from 7:30-10 a.m.
There will also be live music from 12-1 p.m. courtesy of DJ Nayte Joon in the University Student Union (USU) Pit for “Toons at Noon.”
At 7 p.m. the Fresno State women’s soccer team will face Weber State at the Fresno State Soccer Stadium.
Friday, Aug. 23:
Enjoy free music featuring KSFR Fresno State Radio in the USU Pit from 12-1 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 26:
The Big Bulldog Welcome, hosted by the Student Involvement Center, kicks off in the Memorial Gardens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The welcome will feature activities, giveaways and resource tables to help students launch into the new semester.
Tuesday, Aug. 27:
From 12-1 p.m. Fresno State will host Councilmember Tyler Maxwell at the Memorial Gardens for an afternoon of free advice and donuts.
Later that day, enjoy free bowling and billiards in the USU’s lower floor from 7-10 p.m. for Fresno State’s “Bulldog Bowl’s Back-to-School Bowl Bash.”
Wednesday, Aug. 28:
The Community Service Opportunities Fair will be held in the Memorial Gardens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This will be a great opportunity for students to connect with community partners and find exciting volunteer positions.
Then, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the USU Balcony and Memorial Gardens will host Traditions Day for students to get involved with student clubs and other organizations on campus.
Later that day, visit the Resnick Student Union (RSU) from 8-10 p.m. for “Speed Friending” a night of riddles, prizes and new friends.
Thursday, Aug. 29:
DJ Rocky will headline Toons at Noon in the USU Pit from 12-1 p.m.
From 7-10 p.m. The Square at Campus Pointe will kick off the semester with roller skating, caricature artists, airbrush tattoo artists and student discounts at the shops at Campus Pointe.
Friday, Aug. 30:
DJ Nayte Joon returns for the second day of Toons at Noon in the USU Pit from 12-1 p.m.
That night, the Central Valley Fuego will take over the Fresno State Soccer Stadium. Tickets for Fresno State Students are only $5 with a valid Fresno State I.D.
Saturday, Aug. 31:
Welcome Week concludes at the RSU at 4 p.m. with a watch party of the highly anticipated Fresno State vs. Michigan football game.
There will be food, activities and prizes for all students to enjoy.
