Fresno State’s Homecoming week is from Oct. 23 to Oct. 28 and is packed with events to honor the campus’ successes. This year’s homecoming theme is: “There is no place like Fresno State.”
“There’s a week dedicated to celebrating our Bulldog pride and this is the perfect opportunity to make memories and feel truly connected to the community on campus,” said Rey Hoke, a student Homecoming Committee member.
“Fresno State is such an amazing place and college is for more than just classes, we hope students have the chance to socialize and connect as part of their education,” Hoke added.
Monday, Oct. 23:
Show your Bulldog Pride and join the Student Involvement Center for games, giveaways, entertainment and food. From 11-1 p.m. there will be a Homecoming Kickoff, located in the Memorial Garden in front of the Kennel Bookstore.
Students can prepare for the flu season on Oct. 23 and 24 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., as the Student Health and Counseling Center is hosting a free flu shot clinic available for all current students. This event is located at the RSU, Room 207. You must show a valid Fresno State ID to receive a flu shot.
Tuesday, Oct. 24:
Show your Bulldogs support with DIY school spirit crafts. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. visit the Memorial Garden for Red Wave Craft Corner. Hosted by the Student Involvement Center, this event is free to attend and offers entertainment and free crafts for current students.
Stuck on what to wear to the Homecoming game? Design your own homecoming T-shirt at the Tie Dye and Good Vibes event hosted by the Student Involvement Center. From 3-5 p.m. visit the Fresno State Student Housing between Graves Hall and Homan Hall to design the perfect shirt to wear to the football game.
Wednesday, Oct. 25:
Want to meet the beloved and retired Victor E. Bulldog III? Join the Fresno State Alumni Association for the Victor E. Bulldog III Bronze Statue Unveiling Ceremony. This event runs from 11-11:30 a.m at the RSU North Patio and offers a meet-and-greet with Victor E. Bulldog III and IV, photo opportunities and giveaways.
Feeling competitive? From 7-10 p.m. the Student Involvement Center will be hosting a Game Night at the Bulldog Bowl. Located at the Bulldog Bowl and Bulldog Zone, this event is an evening of bowling, board games, pizza, music and crafts.
Thursday, Oct. 26:
“Recharge For Victory” will be hosted by the Student Involvement Center and will be located at the Memorial Garden from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This event is a student hang out with games and music.
Looking to showcase your singing talents? The Student Involvement Center is hosting Live Band Karaoke, an event for students to become a lead singer for a live band! This event is from 7-10 p.m. at the RSU Outdoor Event Plaza.
Friday, Oct. 27:
Get pumped up for the Homecoming game. Red Friday is an event hosted by the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Staff Assembly Executive Committee and Fresno State Athletics. This event is held from 9-10 a.m. at the RSU Outdoor Event Plaza and showcases the Fresno State Marching Band, Fresno State Cheer and offers games, prizes and music.
From 5-10 p.m., the Fresno State Alumni Association is hosting Homecoming Takeover, located at Crow & Wolf Brewing Company. Enjoy great drinks, food trucks, live music and show your support for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldog Boo Bash is a perfect event for the spooky season. From 7-10 p.m. the Student Involvement Center is hosting an event for students to enjoy Halloween festivities, entertainment and friendly competitions. You may even catch Victor E. Bulldog IV in a costume.
Saturday, Oct. 28:
Are you an alumni looking for something to do before the Homecoming game? The Fresno State Alumni Association is hosting a pregame at the NUTRL Zone at 4:30 p.m. Three hours before kickoff, this alumni event will be located at Valley Children’s Stadium in the White Lot, where there will be NUTRL canned drinks, imported beers, sodas, water and food trucks. There will be live music on the stage and large flatscreens that will showcase games from around the country. Victor E. Bulldog IV will be in attendance for a meet-and-greet.
If you’re a current student and looking for something to do, Fresno State Associated Students Inc. is hosting a Student Tailgate at 5 p.m. This event is located at the Fresno State Student Housing and will offer food, music, entertainment and giveaways.
The event football fans have all been waiting for, Fresno State vs. UNLV, will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. when the Bulldogs take on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels for the Homecoming Game. Join the Redwave and cheer on our Bulldogs to victory.
