The Fresno Greek Fest is celebrating its 60th anniversary this weekend, returning to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church for three days filled with Greek food, music and more.

The event began on Friday, Sept. 15 with an evening of public dance lessons, cooking demonstrations and other live entertainment. Children were encouraged to visit the revamped kids’ area, which includes larger inflatable slides this year along with waterslides, an obstacle course and rock climbing.

Fans of Greek Fest food can visit the indoor dining hall for lamb shanks or moussaka, which is an eggplant and ground beef casserole with bechamel, or visit the outdoor grill for gyro sandwiches or bowls and Greek fries. 

The popular pastry room will also make its return with sweet treats such as baklava and diples. The dessert aisle near the outside booths will also feature loukoumades, described as “puffs of golden dough, drenched in honey and topped with nuts,” and baklava sundaes.

The event continues on Saturday from 11 a.m. until midnight and concludes on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 65 and older and free for children 12 and under and active military with ID. Tickets are only available for purchase in-person.
