iHeartMedia will take over as the new official broadcast home to Fresno State Athletics starting July 1.
According to a news release, the Bulldog Sports Network will reach fans all the way from Sacramento to Bakersfield with various terrestrial radio signals. It will also reach statewide digitally with the iHeartRadio mobile app and around the world via the Fresno State Bulldogs official app.
Fresno State Athletics was previously carried on 940 ESPN, which is owned by One Putt Broadcasting.
“We are excited to partner with iHeartMedia to bring the Bulldog Sports Network to our passionate Red Wave fan base throughout the Valley and far beyond,” Fresno State Director of Athletics Terry Tumey said. “iHeartMedia is well regarded as a world renowned media company that will further enhance our ability to advance the Fresno State brand, engage our longtime fans, and reach new audiences.”
Games carried on the Bulldog Sports Network will include football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.
The stations carrying Fresno State Athletics locally will be Fox Sports AM 1280 (Stockton), 92.9 The Big Dog (Modesto), Fox Sports AM 970 (Fresno), KRDU 1130 am (Visalia) and Fox Sports AM 970 (Bakersfield).
“This exciting new partnership between iHeartMedia and Fresno State Athletics is a huge win for Bulldog fans up and down the valley,” Steve Darnell, iHeartMedia area president, said. “In addition to airing live game action, our iHeartMedia influencers will create exciting audio, digital, social and podcast content to enhance the Bulldog Sports Network across all of our Central California iHeartMedia station brands.”
The relationship with iHeartMedia will be managed by Bulldog Sports Properties (BSP), Fresno State Athletics’ exclusive multimedia rights holder.
Corporate partners will be able advertise their brand not only through traditional commercials but also through signage, digital reach outside the stadium, hospitality and experiential opportunities, according to the news release.
