In the Mountain West’s predicted order of finish, Fresno State was predicted to finish fourth in the West Division for the 2020 football season.
The Bulldogs received 73 points, which was one point behind third place Hawai’i. San Diego State is the predicted winner of the West Division with 122 points.
The Aztecs have won at least 10 games in four of the last five seasons and are looking to make their first appearance in the conference championship game since 2016.
In the Mountain Division, Boise State is slated to win with 125 points in the predictions. The Broncos are seeking their fourth straight title game appearance this upcoming season.
If the football season continues as planned, it will be the eighth season of divisional play for the Mountain West Conference, which moved to the two division, six-team each format in 2013 with the additions of San Jose State and Utah State in 2013.
The two winners of each division will meet in the MW Championship Game on Dec. 5, 2020 at the home stadium of the divisional champion with the highest winning percentage in conference games only.
