All outdoor classes and activities at Fresno State were cancelled for the remainder of the day on Monday, according to a university news release.
As of 4 p.m. the Air Quality Index (AQI) was at 496.
The following groups should remain indoors and keep activity levels low: People with heart or lung disease, children and older adults. Everyone else should avoid all physical activity outdoors.
Employees who work primarily outdoors will be asked to work indoors. It is advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.
However, classes will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Members of the campus community can expect an update regarding classes and campus operations through the Bulldog Alert by 9 p.m. on Monday.Â
Update: As of 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, the AQI has decreased to 188 and is expected to go down to 86 by Tuesday, Nov. 26.Â
