The Fresno State women’s golf team took a trip to South Carolina to participate in the Palmetto Intercollegiate Invite from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15.
The Bulldogs tied for third place in the Invite finishing with a 6-over-par 870 and junior Brigitte Thibault took second place with a 6-under-par 210, according to a news release by Fresno State Athletics.
This is the second consecutive third place finished for the Bulldogs after last week’s Aggie Invitational in which the ‘Dogs also finish third.
Besides Thibault, sophomores Harriet Lynch and Jessica Hall also finished in the top 40 in the tournament.
Thibault set a new program record for the Bulldogs, scoring a 138 (69-69) for both of the first rounds in the tournament.
Head coach Emily Loftin said in the release that this group has a lot of momentum building and that they have a lot of good insight into their game.
“I am really proud of this group,” Loftin said. “We are certainly disappointed for coming up short today, but there are a lot of great things to celebrate from this team.”
The Bulldogs will participate in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the Bulldogs this will be the last tournament before winter break, the season will continue in February of 2020.
