The Fresno State Department of Music will celebrate the rich diversity of music with two guitar festival 2019 concerts, according to a Fresno State news release.
The first concert will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Wahlberg Recital Hall in the Music Building’s Room 183.
The concert kicks off its first day with a rock band called Fall of Silence, which will feature bass player Tony Franklin, jazz bassist Tony Saunders and drummer Alvin Taylor.
Tickets are $15 for general and $5 for students, seniors and staff.
For local guitar players looking to broaden their skills, the guitar festival will also feature two free masterclasses by Tony Saunders and Tony Franklin from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The second concert is on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. in the Wahlberg Recital Hall. It will feature Fresno State professor of music Corey Whitehead. He will be performing a classic flamenco recital with pieces like “El Colibri” by Julio Salvador Sagreras; “Themes from the Godfather” by Rota and much more. Attendees can buy tickets for the second concert for $5 each.
