Fresno State women’s soccer forward Emma Chivers has been named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week, according to a news release by Fresno State Athletics.
During the weekend, the Bulldogs defeated Portland State University, 2-1, on Friday and then Weber State University, 2-0, on Sunday. Chivers scored a goal in each game, bringing her season total to three.
This is the Bulldogs’ first player of the week award since the 2017 season and this is the first award for Chivers during her time at Fresno State.
Fresno State has a 3-1-1 overall record with the only loss being against CSU Bakersfield in a 2-1 home loss earlier this season.
Chivers finished both of the matches last weekend with a combined total of five shoots, with two of those being shots on goal.
The Bulldogs will travel to UC Santa Barbara this Friday and will be back home on Sunday to face another tough opponent in UC Riverside.
