Football is back in gear for Fresno State, as the university announced that the reigning Mountain West champions will be back at practice starting Monday, March 11.

The 15 spring practices for the ‘Dogs will take place March 11 – April 13, with the final practice on April 13 being open to the public as they showcase the 2019 ‘Dogs at Bulldog Stadium for fans.

Fresno State is coming off a successful 2018 campaign that included a 12-2 record, MW title, a win in the Las Vegas Bowl against Arizona State and finishing the season ranked by the Associated Press at No. 18.

The 2019 Bulldogs will be returning 12 starters total, three on offense, six on defense and three on special teams. As a whole, the team will return 35 lettermen.

For the Bulldogs, the biggest questions going into the spring is which quarterback will be the successor of former Bulldogs quarterback Marcus McMaryion and how the Bulldogs are going to improve a very thin wide receiver position.

Additionally, the Bulldogs will have some holes to fill at some of the defensive positions as linebacker Jeffrey Allison and defensive back Mike Bell both declared early for the NFL draft.

Fresno State hopes to have those questions answered by the time the season opener rolls around on Sept. 31, as they will travel to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to face the University of South California Trojans.
