The NCAA announced on Tuesday afternoon that Fresno State’s redshirt sophomore Khristian Olivas earned one of the six at large bids, punching his very first ticket to the NCAA Wrestling Championships alongside teammate AJ Nevills.
Head coach Troy Steiner credits Olivas’ “solid season.”
Ranked No. 22 by Coaches Panel Ranking, Olivas finished his first season at Fresno State 26-7 overall with a 17-3 dual meet record, including three wins over ranked wrestlers.
The 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, from March 15-17.
