Fresno State will be hosting “An Introduction to the Conversation About Substance Use” forum on Feb. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the North Gym Room 118.
The forum will focus on substance use on campus and around the community. The scheduled keynote speaker will be former olympian and professional BMX rider Tony Hoffman.
Hoffman, a self proclaimed person in recovery, is an advocate for making healthy living choices and substance abuse prevention.
After the keynote speech there will be a panel on substance use consisting of Hoffman, Flindt Andersen of Parents and Addicts in Need (P.A.I.N.), Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims and ASI President Blake Zante.
Fresno State President Joseph Castro along with ABC 30 news anchor Liz Harrison are also expected to attend the event, which was planned in collaboration with State Assemblyman Jim Patterson.
