The Fresno State football team is the only California team to win a bowl game this season.
The Bulldogs defeated the Houston Cougars in this year’s Hawai’i Bowl 33-27 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on Dec. 24.
Other California schools like UCLA, USC, Stanford and San Diego State played in a bowl game, but did not win.
Army beat San Diego State 42-35 in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas on Dec. 23.
On Dec. 26, Kansas State handed UCLA a loss in the Cactus Bowl 35-17 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
No. 13 Stanford fell short 39-37 to No. 15 TCU in the Valero Alamo Bowl at Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Dec. 28.
Lastly, No. 5 Ohio State destroyed No. 8 USC 24-7 at Goodyears’ Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Dec. 29.
Fresno State is also the only school from the three West Coast states to win a bowl game.
Oregon took a loss in the Las Vegas Bowl 38-28 against Boise State at the Sam Boyd Stadium on Dec. 16.
No. 16 Michigan State slaughtered No. 18 Washington State 42-17 in the SDCCU Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on Dec. 28.
As for No. 11 Washington, they fell short a touchdown to No. 9 Penn State 35-28 at the Playstation Fiesta Bowl at the U. of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Dec. 30.
