Fresno mayor Lee Brand will be the keynote speaker at Fresno State’s annual Armenian Genocide Commemoration on April 24, at 7 p.m. at the Armenian Genocide Monument.

The event will honor the 102nd anniversary of the 1915 genocide where 1.5 million Armenians by the Turkish Ottoman empire.

The event will include Fresno State President Joseph Castro and Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno, Berj Apkarian, as speakers. The event will conclude the laying of flowers on the Armenian Genocide Monument, built during the 100th anniversary in 2015.
