All flags on the Fresno State campus will be lowered to half-staff Jan. 4, the day professor emeritus of viticulture Vincent E. Petrucci will be laid to rest.
Petrucci died Tuesday. He was 91.
Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro announced the university’s salute to Petrucci by having national and state flags on the campus lowered. Petrucci is considered “the father of Fresno State’s viticulture and enology” programs.
Petrucci’s family is requesting all donations in honor of Petrucci, who also served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps at the end of World War II, be made to the different endowments in his name.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Ag One Foundation to support the Vincent E. Petrucci Endowment for viticulture and enology student scholarships. Memorial donations may also be made to the Fresno State Foundation to support the V.E. Petrucci Library Endowment.

A viewing service is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Lisle Funeral Home on 1605 L Street. A Rosary service is planned for 7 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church on 355 E. Champlain Drive. A funeral mass is expected Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Church; burial will be private.
