Cushion foundation — never heard of it? It’s a foundation that is soaked in a sponge and placed into a compact.
It’s ready for on-the-go makeup uses as well as easy and fast to apply. I’ve been using IOPE Air Cushion XP Broad Spectrum foundation for over a week and I love it. It cancels out blemishes and I would say the foundation has medium build able coverage.
Although it did cover my blemishes, I would only recommend this product if you want light to medium coverage. The box claims that the product is a UV protectant product with SPF 50+.
I have mix feelings about this claim. I live in a city where the weather gets really warm and I did not get sunburnt, but I did notice that both side of my cheeks started to dry up a few days after using this foundation.
I wanted to test out the lasting and staying power of the foundation alone, without moisturizer or a face primer, but I think that made my skin dry.
I do still love this product and recommend it. However, if I were you, I would use moisturizer and a face primer before applying this product. After I discovered the dry patches on my skin, I decided to start using moisturizer and primer as well, and ever since, my skin has been healing. Overall, I do like this foundation.
I received mine in the color C23 Cover Beige and the product comes with an additional cushion sponge so when the original cushion sponge is finished, I can replace it with the new one.
IOPE’s foundation is one of the first cushion foundation to hit the market. The cushion foundation trend originated in South Korea and found its way to the U.S. Companies such as L’Oreal, Physicians Formula, Lancome, It Cosmetics has only recently released their versions of cushion foundations.
I have also tried L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation and I do prefer the coverage and lasting power on IOPE’s cushion foundation. However, L’Oreal’s foundation did not dry out my skin. The main reason why I prefer IOPE’s foundation over L’Oreal is because of the coverage and lasting power.
I would use primer and moisturizer when using L’Oreals’ foundation and I found that it didn’t last all day. The cover is light to medium and the foundation and has 12 different shades compared to IOPE’s, which has four shades.
