Fresno State is one of 11 California State Universities that will be receiving a $1.2 million grant from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation.
The foundation envisions “a productive, vibrant, and sustainable California that is a model of success and a source of innovation,” according to its website.
With the grant, Fresno State’s Kerman School of Education and Human Development will support a redesign of the teacher credential program and strengthen partnerships with local school districts, according to Office of University Communications.
Central, Fresno and Sanger unified school districts will also be awarded a $1.2 million grant that will go toward training a new generation of teachers.
