Rachel Nieto researched the cellular export of influenza virus and it all started with an internship.

The Fresno State senior who is majoring in biology participated in a prestigious internship over the summer at the University of Münster through the German Academic Exchange Service RISE program.

The program allowed her to work with a doctoral student at the Institute of Molecular Virology where she researched the virus.

Internships for the program are located in Germany and are provided for 300 students from the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.
