With the end of the semester on the horizon, the San Joaquin River Partnership announced an online guide to provide tourist destinations around the San Joaquin River.
The new site, sjriver.org, will feature a detailed map that shows access points, activities and historical information along the river.
“Sjriver.org is the first of its kind on the San Joaquin River, and it will help increase the public’s awareness about this important resource on a regional and national scale,” said Dave Koehler, executive director at the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, Inc.
“This guide will provide many benefits to the people and communities around the San Joaquin River, because it will help lead visitors to countless amazing places along the river including river access parks, historical sites and places to see wildlife,” said Meghan Hertel, Working Lands program director at Audubon, California.
The San Joaquin River, located in the Sierra Nevada, stretches 300 miles to the San Francisco Bay. The aim of the access guide is to show people the spots they can go to on the river, including information about fishing, swimming, hiking, biking and wildlife watching.
