The “comic” that took a quarter of Page 2 of the last Collegian was completely wrong. It makes it appear that the students of the agriculture college are the ones who are abusing animals.
This image may have meant to be seen as funny, but the matter is something that should not be joked about.
The students of the agriculture college at Fresno State take this very seriously, and yet The Collegian does not.
Would The Collegian still post the same picture had a student hurt or killed these animals? No, because that doesn’t make people laugh. People who have sex with animals are not funny, either.
It is a problem that agriculture college students have to try to prevent. The agriculture college student was the one who called the cops and had the man stopped.
It is the agriculture college students who care for these animals; it is the agriculture college students who wake up at all hours to help these animals in giving birth. It is the agriculture college students who protect these animals.
The comic is offensive and disrespectful. Fresno State is a great agriculture school, and diminishing the prestige of it with politically incorrect comics is unfair and wrong.
