They are mysterious and try their hardest to be normal. They are “The Addams Family” at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater in Downtown Fresno.
Good Company Players puts on the production of the musical comedy based on the classic spooky family.
Fresno State student Kindle Cowger plays the morbid daughter of the family, Wednesday, who falls in love and is to be married to Lucas Beineke, played by actor Adrian Ammsso.
The comedy’s hijinks ensue when the family attempts to put on a “normal” demeanor for when the couple’s parents meet.
The rest of the cast, including patriarch Gomez Addams (Tyler Branco) play a crucial role between influencing Morticia Addams’ (Paige Parker) wants versus her daughter’s. Wednesday’s little brother Pugsley (Connor Pofahl) also plays a hand in sabotaging the dinner.
Kathy Frye said her favorite part of the play is watching her co-worker portray the matriarch.
“For me, it’s Morticia because I work with her,” Frye said. “So we got a group of teachers here tow come and see her and see how it’s going.”
The talented cast help bring the comedy to Fresno audiences, Parker said.
“I just love working with this cast,” Parker said. “The people in this cast are amazing and I love watching their performances. It really is an honor to be on the stage with them.”
Audience member Steven Batti said he enjoyed the comedic aspect of the show and said Uncle Fester is the best character for laughs.
“Yes, darlings, Fresno State students, please come see the show,” Parker added.
Performances run until Nov. 9. For ticket information, visit www.rogerrockas.com.
