The Fulton Mall was unusually busy this weekend as thousands attended the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration.
Tons of people ate tacos, pupusas and drank out of pineapples while watching multiple mariachi groups take the stage in Mariposa Plaza. Each side of the mall was lined with vendors selling traditional Mexican clothing, pottery and other miscellaneous items.
The event was sponsored by Univision Television and Radio and organized by the Downtown Fresno Partnership. Festivities stretched from Kern Street to Fresno Street Saturday and Sunday, starting at noon and ending at 7 p.m.
Though Cinco de Mayo is traditionally a Latino event, people of all ethnicities attended the Fulton Mall event Sunday, just one day before the holiday. Hispanic family members of all ages attended as well, first generation all the way down to fourth generation.
