BREAKING: Charges have been filed against three Fresno State students in the August 31, 2012 death of freshman Philip Dhanens.
Leonard Serrato, 28, Aaron Raymo, 24, and Daniel Baker, 22, have been charged with Hazing and Providing Alcohol to a Person Under 21 Years of Age Proximately Causing Death. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer and Fresno County DA Elizabeth A. Egan announced the charges earlier this morning at a press conference.
On Aug. 31, 2012 Fresno State freshman Philip Dhanens died from what the coroner’s office later identified as alcohol poisoning. Dhanens, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., was planning to graduate from Fresno State, move back to Bakersfield and establish a career in construction management. He was a pledge of the Theta Chi fraternity.
