Fresno State will honor legendary football coach Jim Sweeney with a memorial service and celebration of life at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Sweeney, who went 200-154-4 in 32 years as a college head coach and 143-75-3 in 19 seasons at Fresno State,died Friday at age 83.
Saturday’s event is open to the public. Seating will be on the west side of the stadium facing a podium and stage on the home sideline of Jim Sweeney Field. The stadium’s west and south gate entrances will open at 10 a.m., as will the White Lot for parking and tailgating.
Former players will sing “Bulldog Spirit” followed by the Lord’s Prayer and a closing thank you to conclude the event.
