With Fresno State holding the lead early in the first half against the Wildcats of Weber State, they look to continue their success going forward into the second half of the game.
The Bulldogs defense was holding Weber State’s offense in check while capitalizing on there own possessions. Offensively, the Bulldogs have 295 yards compared to Weber State’s 117 yards.
The ’Dogs scored on their first three possessions all resulting in touchdowns. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Devante Adams had the first touchdown for Fresno State early in the first quarter. Junior quarterback Derek Carr has been consistently hooking up with Adams for multiple receptions and yards after the catch.
Senior running back Robbie Rouse is looking strong with two one-yard touchdown plunges. With a total of 52 yards gain in the first half, Rouse is steadily gaining on Fresno State running back legend Ron Rivers.
Weber State looks to get going in the second half but will have a tough time doing so against the Bulldogs’ new look 3-4 defensive scheme. Fresno State’s defense is holding firm allowing only a field goal for Weber State. Seniors outside linebacker Shawn Plummer and strong safety Phillip Thomas lead the ’Dogs defense with four tackles each.
