World travelers can apply for passports and passport cards at Fresno State’s new Passport Place, one of six such places in the Fresno area, and joins other CSU campuses with similar programs.
The passport program was advanced in support of a target goal set by Fresno State’s Strategic Plan for Excellence IV to increase the university’s international presence and international student enrollment to promote better global citizenship.
“Our unique partnership with the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs will allow us to better meet the rigors of this goal and promote the internationalization of our campus,” said Russel Statham, of the Division of Continuing and Global Education.
The new operation also will provide additional revenue to support study-abroad and international exchange opportunities for students, faculty and staff, said Statham.
While there is no discount for students on application fees, students can enjoy a discount on getting a photo done for the passport.
Passport photo services will be offered to the public for $10 and to seniors, Fresno State students, alumni and employees for $6.
However, expenses for photos can be completely avoided by using U.S. Department of State instructions on how an individual can take a passport photo of themselves through their website.
It is recommended that a professional passport photo is used to ensure the photo meets all the requirements.
The Passport Place is open 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Kremen Education Building, Room 130. It is designated by the U.S. Department of State as a passport acceptance facility.
The closest passport office to Fresno State previously is the Clovis Post Office at Bullard and Minnewawa Avenues, about three miles east of the campus.

If you go with someone like the guy above says make sure they’re reputable. In the past I used Urgent Passport Service and had great results. It’s not really something you want to just leave to anyone. Get a pro.

An easier alternative to these suggestions is ePassportPhoto.com. You don’t need a professional photographer — all you have to do is follow the guidelines, take the photo yourself (or have a friend do it), and submit it to us, and we’ll review it and help make sure it meets the passport photo requirements. From there, you can either have them shipped to your local CVS, Target, Walgreens, or DUANEreade, or just print them at home for free! Hope this helps!
