Professor Emeritus James Cypher explains his decades-long research of Mexico and how he has begun to analyze Brazil as well. In the first half of an hour-long conversation he talks about Mexico’s involvement in international transactions, and what opportunities there are for young Mexican nationals in their country.
James Cypher’s research of Mexico’s economy was turned into the book, “State and Capital in Mexico: Development Policy since 1940,” (Westview Press, 1990) and a second book co-authored with Raúl Delgado Wise, “Mexico’s Economic Dilemma: The Developmental failure of neoliberalism: A contemporary case study of the globalization process,” (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, 2010). Both books are available at the Henry Madden Library.
