Kinesiology graduate studentArthur Montejano was elected 2012-13 Associated Students, Inc. president by Fresno State students today.
After the voting period, which ran from Tuesday through Thursday, Montejano tallied 620 votes, followed by Daniel Harrison with 411. Write-in candidate Jose Nava tallied 116 votes.
Rebecca Rosengarten, a business major from Capitola, won the vice president of finance race and political science student Sean Kiernan was uncontested for vice president of external affairs. In other races, 14 students were elected to senate positions and there were no candidates for senator representing the Craig School of Business.
A total of 1,216 studentscast ballots in online voting, down from 1,533 in 2011.Votes were tallied by the League of Women Voters.
The results become final in 21 calendar days. The one-year terms for student officers begins June 1.
