The first batch of students anticipating to live on campus has begun to move into the Fresno State University Courtyard residence halls Thursday morning.
President John D. Welty greeted incoming students and their families around 9 a.m. as members of student organizations helped residents unload and move in their belongings.
The Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band performed Thursday evening for students and their families during a welcome barbecue.
Incoming freshmen Sarah Hubert and best friend Jamie Snyder will be living away from home for the first time.
“I am very excited to meet new friends, have new experiences and be independent,” Hubert said.
Over 1,000 students are expected to reside in the residence halls this semester. Move-in continues through Aug. 19.
