Fashion club puts together student fashion show on weekend
Fashion, Inc., Fresno State’s only on-campus fashion club, hosted this year’s spring fashion show on Saturday in front of the school’s most avid fashion enthusiasts.
Student designers and stylists worked for several weeks to coordinate the show, which showcased student designs and styles.
Local designers, who served as sponsors and vendors of the event, set up tables in the Satellite Student Union, where the show took place, and sold products before and after the show.
“We incorporate a lot of laid-back designs into our merchandise,” Matt Klein, owner of Jimmy Fresh brand, said. “We were at Vintage Days, and they asked us to participate in the fashion show today.”
The show itself featured an eclectic array of techno-inspired apparel, and even featured a pet apparel line, which was displayed on stuffed animal dogs held by models on the runway.
Most of the students who modeled in the show, though not all of them were members of the club, were fashion merchandising majors or minors.
“It was a fun show to be in,” Samantha Slagle, one of the models in the show, said. “I want to work in fashion because I love shopping so much.”
The fashion show, which featured the work of three student designers and two stylists, was the club’s first fashion show.
