The Fresno State soccer team revived a tulmultuous regular season by taking home the Western Athletic Conference tournament championship.
On Sunday in Ruston, La., head coach Bryan Zwaschka’s squad took down top-seeded San Jose State in a double-overtime, penalthy-kick 0-0 thriller to claim the school’s second title in three seasons.
In the opening round, Fresno State took down Idaho 3-0 to keep its season alive.
Tournament MVP Katie Lee’s first career goal came in a 1-0 semifinal round win over Utah State, allowing the ‘Dogs to take on San Jose State in Sunday’s championship round.
Fresno State, which finished the regular season 7-8-4, will find out today at 1:30 p.m. who and where it will play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
