Fresno State will begin accepting applications for the fall 2011 semester from Oct. 1, 2010 throughNov. 30, 2010 for all undergraduate admission categories.
The university will accept applications for the fall 2011 semester in the categories listed below.Early application is encouraged as application deadlines are subject to change.
Applicants must apply for admission by the deadline listed:
First-Time Freshmen: Nov. 30, 2010
Upper Division Transfers: Nov. 30, 2010
Returning Students: Feb. 1, 2011
Credential Applicants: April 1, 2011
Graduate and Doctoral Applicants: April 1, 2011
Closed Application Categories:
The university is closed to applicants in the following categories:new lower division transfers, second baccalaureate, and postbaccalaureate unclassified applicants.Applications from non-matriculated “transitory” students, including CSU visitors and concurrent enrollees, will not be accommodated.
Freshman Impaction:
The campus is impacted at the freshman level and will utilize supplementary criteria for admission.Students from the CSU, Fresno-designated Local Area will be admitted if they meet minimum CSU admission requirements.Students from outside the Local Area will be ranked based on eligibility index (combination of high school gpa and test score) and admitted on a space available basis. All coursework used to satisfy admission requirements must be completed by the high school graduation date.

In addition to impaction at the freshman level, the Nursing and Kinesiology-Sports Option majors remain impacted for fall 2011.
Upper Division Transfer Impaction:
The campus is impacted at the transfer level and will implement supplementary screening criteria for admission.Transfer applicants from the Local Area will be accommodated if they meet minimum CSU admission requirements. Community colleges in the Local Area are: College of the Sequoias, Fresno City College, Merced College, Modesto Junior College, Reedley College, West Hills Community College, and West Hills College-Lemoore. Transfer applicants from other colleges and universities will be considered on a space available basis if they have a minimum 2.70 gpa or higher in all transfer work. All transfer applicants must complete courses that satisfy admission requirements by the end of the spring 2011 semester/quarter.

Returning Students:
Applicants will be accommodated on a space available basis. Priority will be given to upper-division returning students who have completed General Education-Breadth requirements in Area A and B4 (English composition, oral communication, critical thinking, and mathematics.)All other returning students will be accommodated on a space available basis. Lower-division returning applicants are encouraged to complete lower-division GE and major requirements prior to fall 2011. All transfer coursework used to support admission must be completed by the end of spring 2011.
