Denver (1-2) at Tennessee (2-1)
With running back Chris Johnson averaging over 100 yards a game, the Titans will be hard to slow down on offense. If quarterback Vince Young can get into a rhythm expect the Titans to pick up its third win of the year.
Pick: Tennessee
Detriot (0-3) at Green Bay (2-1)
Don’t let Detriot’s 0-3 record fool you, the Lions have played competitively in every game this year. But with the explosive rookie Jahvid Best nursing an injury, it will be hard for the Lions to generate any yardage against a Packers’ defense that is one of the best in the league.
Pick: Green Bay
N.Y. Jets (2-1) at Buffalo (0-3)
The Bills were finally able to get things going on offense after benching and releasing former starter Trent Edwards last week against the Patriots. But going up against the blitzing Jets defense will be a tough test for any team.
Pick: New York Jets
San Francisco (0-3) at Atlanta (2-1)
San Francisco’s off to an embarrassing start to the season after many experts predicted the 49ers to win the NFC West. With the firing of their offensive coordinator, the 49ers will struggle to find its offensive identity once again.
Pick: Atlanta
Baltimore (2-1) at Pittsburgh (3-0)
Pittsburgh’s been on fire so far this season. Despite playing three quarterbacks already, the Steelers have played well on offense with Big Ben still serving his suspension. But facing an always tough Ravens defense will difficult for veteran Charlie Batch.
Pick: Baltimore
Carolina (0-3) at New Orleans (2-1)
Until Carolina gets their running game going, the Panthers are going to have a hard time winning any games, especially with a rookie quarterback at the helm.
Pick: New Orleans
Cincinnati (2-1) at Cleveland (0-3)
Until the Browns start showing that they are capable of protecting a lead, this Cleveland squad will never be able to grind out a victory.
Pick: Cincinnati
Houston (2-1) at Oakland (1-2)
Maybe kicking at home below sea level will do wonders for Sebastian Janikowski. But don’t count on it. The Texans will bounce back after a disappointing in-state loss to the Cowboys.
Pick: Houston
Indianapolis (2-1) at Jacksonville (1-2)
As long as Peyton Manning is the quarterback, the Colts will always have a chance to win despite injuries to the offense particularly the receiving corps.
Pick: Indianapolis
Arizona (2-1) at San Diego (1-2)
With a surprising 2-1 start, the Cardinals are primed to defend their NFC West Title. But it’s only a matter of time until teams figure out how to slow down the inconsistent QB Derek Andersen. If he plays, expect former Fresno State RB Ryan Mathews to break the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career.
Pick: San Diego
Washington (1-2) at Philadelphia (2-1)
Donovan McNabb gets the chance to show the Eagles that he’s still one of the top quarterbacks in the game when he returns to Philadelphia for the first time since getting traded. But with Michael Vick now running the show, it’ll be hard to contain the dynamic playmaker.
Pick: Philadelphia
Chicago (3-0) at N.Y. Giants (1-2)
Chicago is off to its best start in years, but the Bears are going to hit a road block this week against a Giants squad that is hungry to prove that its still one of the top teams in the league.
Pick: New York Giants
New England (2-1) at Miami (2-1)
In the past, the Patriots have played poorly in Miami, but thats going to change this week. Miami doesn’t have the firepower to compete with Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense, especially if this game becomes a shootout.
Pick: New England
Upset of the Week
Seattle (2-1) at St. Louis (1-2)
Seattle’s coming off a big victory against the Chargers, but the Seahawks are more lucky than good at this point. St. Louis has been playing well under rookie QB Sam Bradford. If RB Steven Jackson is ahealthy, the Rams will give head coach Pete Carroll and the Seahawks a run for the NFC West.
Pick: St. Louis
