The Central California Blood Drive registered 790 donors in its first blood drive of the semester.
Overall, 168 students, faculty and staff were turned away due to low iron, blood pressure and travel.
“A total of 621 pints of whole blood were donated,” said Donor Recruiter Lynn Stone, of the Central California Blood Center. “Making it the most pints collected at a September blood drive since it partnered with Fresno state in 2001.”
Donors can give up to one pint every 56 days.
The blood drive will be back on campus Nov. 15, 2010 through Nov. 17, 2010.
