After a convincing 83-55 victory over Hawai’i in the opening round of the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Wednesday, the ‘Dogs resume play today against Idaho.
The Bulldogs were paced with four players scoring in double figures, including Jaleesa Ross’ team-high 15 points. If Fresno State is going to repeat its first-round performance, head coach Adrian Wiggins will look for another strong defensive showing as his team forced Hawai’i into 24 turnovers and allowed no player to score over 12 points.
Fresno State and the fourth-ranked Idaho Vandals will face off at noon for the third time this season. The Bulldogs have won the previous two meetings by an average of 27.5 points, including a 47-point blowout on Feb. 10.
Idaho edged New Mexico State in its opening round contest 75-63, led by sophomore guard Shaena Kuehu’s career-high 22 points.
The winner of today’s game will face either Louisiana Tech or Nevada in the conference championship tomorrow at 1 p.m.
