Hundreds rallied Thursday at the intersection of Blackstone and Shaw avenues as part of the statewide day of action.

The group of marchers, which includes students, educators and community members throughout the Central Valley, plan to make their way onto the Fresno State campus where a demonstration is scheduled to take place in the Peace Garden.

Similar protests are expected at California State Universities, University of California ­and community colleges throughout the state.
