Three fires were set on campus Wednesday evening. University Police Department as well as the Fresno Fire Department are investigating all three incidents.
At approximately 8:18 p.m. University Police Department personnel found a trash can on fire west of the Key Control office near the center of campus. The fire was immediately extinguished by UPD personnel.
At around 8:20 p.m. a fire in a Speech Arts trash receptacle caused first responders to evacuate the building. The Speech Arts building was locked down for several hours afterward.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. a report was made to the University Police Department of a possible fire in an office located in the Social Sciences building. Officers responded and found a charred piece of paper inside the office.
According to Fire Capt. Andrew Noel, no structural damage was caused by the fires.
No suspects have been identified. University Police are seeking any information about this incident. To report information, call (559) 278-8400.

Arson by someone paid to do it for hidden agenda reasons. The next thing you know, campus student liberties will be threatened such as using this to argue the need for more spending on surveilance or for more police rather than sending that stimulus money to things like: Classes, Extended library hours, facutly, etc.

I don’t think it was smokers, it would just be too much of a coincidence for 3 fires in different locations to start. This must have been intentional.

Its because of the lack of enforcement of smokers….now i know ill get crap for blaming smokers without proof but i see them smokers so many times time and again, throwing thier butts in the trash.
